Over 300 buses from the Tshwane bus service are constantly decontaminated with the highest level of decontamination in existence (Decon-7) by the Scientology Volunteer Ministers to help curb the further spreading of covid-19 and protect the commuters and drivers.

Every day, hundreds of thousands of South Africans travel using the bus service in the City of Tshwane, greatly worried about the communal transport system and the recent positive covid-19 positive case in the bus service.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers responded by volunteering their time — even risking their life — to decontaminate over 300 buses daily. Bus drivers have reportedly been very anxious after the new case and so are the passengers.

“It was only right that we stand together with the City of Tshwane Bus service and provide all the assistance needed in this time because they are valued members of society and they put themselves at risk daily transporting thousands and we wanted to ensure that they operate in a safe as possible environment” said Sandile Hlayisi, Public Affairs Director for the Scientology Volunteer Ministers.

The Scientology Volunteers have also been decontaminating Rea-Vaya buses every night for the past 3 weeks in an effort to curb the cross contaminations of this virus within Gauteng’s metropolitan cities.

This brings the total number of buses to over 600 sanitized every night and day from here onward. In addition, the Volunteers have also been decontaminating over 14,000 taxis daily in taxi ranks around Gauteng daily.

“We are very concerned with the transport system in Gauteng and always ready to support them because they carry hundreds of thousands of brave South Africans who are pushing the nation forward and that’s why we have been closely involved in helping them during this pandemic” added Hlayisi. The work of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers over the period of the pandemic covers over 54 000 buildings sanitized ranging from Hospitals, shelters, government buildings to over a million vehicles including ambulances, police cars, fire trucks, taxis, army vehicles and buses in an effort to fight the pandemic, the organization says they also produced and distributed over 1.3 million educational materials on covid-19 precautions in isiZulu, Se-Sotho and Xhosa.
